Greenville, Delaware. Firefighters from Elsmere and Cranston Heights fire departments were called out to an extraordinary situation. 13 year-old neighborhood favorite Little Boo the dog had run out onto a patch of ice on a frozen lake and was in some big trouble. He was screaming out for help and needed the firefighters’ help as soon as possible. Time was of the essence.

We’ve seen plenty of dog rescues here in our time at Daily Digest, but very few of them have been quite as dramatic as Little Boo’s. When the rescue crew arrived, they assessed the situation very quickly and realized that they had to act fast. Boo was going to drop through the ice and possibly drown if they didn’t do something.

One of them had the idea to commandeer a small boat which was moored up nearby. It was a delicate mission to retrieve the beloved pet without plunging him into the ice cold waters. But they managed it! Now? Little Boo is back on safe land, nice and dry. And more than a little cautious of the ice!
