For Publishers

Daily Digest is a news aggregator. We group coverage from 338 outlets into stories and send readers straight to the original article. This page explains how we use your content and how to update or remove your listing.

What We Read and What We Keep

We find new articles by reading your public RSS or Atom feeds, or your news sitemap. For each article we keep its address, your headline, when it was published, the address of its sharing picture, and the author and categories your feed gives it. We don’t keep the article text.

If your feed includes a summary, we use up to 300 characters of it once, to match your article with others on the same story, and then delete it. Readers never see it.

We also open a few of your pages: one article a week to check your picture rules, an article whose feed entry has no picture, and articles on the board to confirm they are still online. When you delete an article, its link leaves the board.

Getting Listed

Our editors add outlets by hand. To be read, an outlet needs a public RSS or Atom feed, or a news sitemap.

We carry mainstream outlets of every political leaning. We don’t carry sites that exist to spread hate, fabricate stories, or run a state’s propaganda.

Anyone can suggest an outlet, whether you work there or read it. Suggest an outlet with its name and website. We can’t list every outlet, and we write back only if we need something from you.

Claim Your Listing

Every outlet we list has its own page, and a panel readers can open from any story. It shows your name, logo, website, and country. Once an editor has reviewed them, it also shows your ownership, governance, and funding. It can carry a paywall label, a state-media label, and an editor’s note.

We fill the panel in from Wikidata and other public sources, and the logo is the icon your own site publishes. Ownership is shown only after an editor has reviewed it, and the panel shows the date of that review.

If you work for the outlet, claim the listing. You don’t need an account. Send one request, and an editor reviews it and replies within 5 working days.

What Claiming Includes

The verified mark means one thing: we confirmed who runs the listing. It is not an endorsement, it can’t be bought, and it gives an outlet no say over how stories are grouped or ranked.

Corrections

If a fact on your panel is wrong (the owner, the country, the funding, the governance, the paywall label, or the state-media label), request a correction. Tell us what is wrong and point us to a source. We answer every correction request within 5 working days. If we can’t confirm the change, we tell you what we need.

If one of your articles sits in the wrong story or the wrong section, send us its address the same way.

Pictures

Beside a story we may show the picture the outlet publishes for sharing: the one in its feed, or its og:image. The picture loads from your server. We don’t copy or store the file, the request carries no referrer, and your outlet’s name is credited on it.

You can switch this off in two ways:

Your stories then show our own section art instead.

Removal and Opt-Out

Ask us to stop listing your outlet and we act within 48 hours. We stop reading your feeds. Your articles leave every list, story, and search result on the site and in our API, and your outlet page is removed. We keep a record of your opt-out so we don’t list you again by mistake.

To have the link to a single article taken down, send us its address with the same request type.

We respect your robots directives. We check the image directives on your pages automatically every week. If your robots.txt closes a feed or sitemap to DailyDigestBot and we are still reading it, tell us and we stop within 48 hours.

Send a Request

This form goes to our editors’ queue, not a general inbox. A request never changes a listing by itself: an editor reads it first.

Its name and website, for example “Harbor Press, harborpress.com.”
An address at the outlet’s own domain lets us confirm you speak for it.
What should change, and where we can check it. For one article, include its address.

Listing updates and corrections: within 5 working days. Removal, opt-out, and pictures: within 48 hours.
