The Lockwood Animal Rescue Center in Lockwood Valley, California. It’s a very special place indeed. We’ve told you recently about some pretty special rescue centers. Like the place in Georgia that saved a dachshund/pit bull cross. And the center that helped a pit bull rescue called Remi. But Lockwood’s a little different…
It’s home to over forty animals, many of them wolves. They’ve rescued them from across the Unites States, from Florida to Alaska. The Warriors and Wolves program partners a rescue wolf with a war vet suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). And the results so far? Incredible! Good news, huh?
Co-Founder of LARC and war veteran Matthew Simmons says this of their work: “The idea is that you’ve got to give someone who’s been through a severe trauma an opportunity to heal. And we believe that Warriors and Wolves program and a back to nature setting does that.”
