Portland, Oregon. A young woman named Ashley Glawes puts her pet snake on her shoulders, like she’s done a thousand times before. But this time, Bart the python was to get into serious trouble. Ashley felt a yank and pain in her ear. Bart had managed to squeeze through the enlarged hole she had had punched through her earlobe. And was stuck fast.
“I froze instantly. I didn’t move because I really thought he was like attacking the side of my head,” she said.
Ashley said she then tried to get the snake out of her ear hole using olive oil. But to no avail…
“I tried to get him out myself. And I knew I wasn’t going to be able to without hurting him by pulling him back against his scales,” she went on.
Glawe had no choice but to go to the emergency room where medical professionals applied lots of lubrication and, after a little easing and teasing, they managed to removed the poor python. Bart was – luckily – not injured in the process.
“He acted like nothing even happened and was totally chill,” she said.
