Football
Football, also called association football or soccer, is a ball game and team sport played by two sides of 11 players.
About Football
It dates from 1863 and has its origin in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Teams try to score more goals than their opponents by getting the ball into the goal the other side guards. Players mainly use their feet, along with the head, chest and thighs, while only goalkeepers may handle the ball, and only inside their own penalty area. A drawn match can earn each side 1 point, or go to extra time or a penalty shoot-out. FIFA governs the sport worldwide, and the International Football Association Board regulates its rules. Under FIFA sit six continental confederations: AFC, CAF, CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, OFC and UEFA, while national associations such as the FA in England run the game in each country.
