When Khari Toure heard that his daughters were having trouble at school, he was immediately concerned. He’d been there. He knew how cruel bullies could be in the playground. Especially about weight issues. One of his kids was being teased for her weight, while the other was feeling pressure and nerves about being too skinny. Khari knew he had to step in and help them. But he decided a little chat wouldn’t be enough. He really wanted to make an impression. And if he could help out other children at the same time? Even better!
So he decided to tap into his skill set. He wrote and recorded a song. An anti-bullying song. It’s called ‘Love Yourself’ and it’s an uplifting and positive message that every kid – bullied and bullies alike needs to hear. Oh, and it’s a real good song anyway!
It’s point is a simple one – you don’t need to measure how worthy a person you are by the behavior and approval of a tiny section of vocal people around you. You need to realize how unique, special, priceless and beautiful you are for yourself.
