A doctor is being praised after he built a homemade inhaler whilst treating an asthmatic toddler on a transatlantic flight. Dr Khurshid Guru, director of robotic surgery at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in New York, was a traveling back to the States from a conference in Spain when a toddler on the plane started to have an asthma attack. A video has been released by a Brazilian animal sanctuary which shows the moment that a 13 year old rescue lion felt grass beneath his feet for the first time. The footage, which was released by Rancho dos Gnomos Sanctuary, shows Will the lion, who was born into captivity and held in a circus for 13 years, being let out onto a grassy enclosure. The footage was taken in 2006, but was recently released to drum up support for the not for profit sanctuary, which houses over 230 animals. Last year, Vivian Keith’s parents received the devastating news that their daughter had acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), an illness which affects the amount of white blood cells in the body. As white blood cell count reduces, the body’s ability to fight off infection lessens.
