27 years ago, Ingeborg McIntosh fought tooth and nail to adopt Jordan, her foster son. She’d had more than 120 foster children come through her doors and loved every single one of them. But there was something special about little Jordan. “They placed him in my arms and it was love at first sight,” Ingeborg says. “He was a part of the family, no matter what.” Almost three decades later? He saved her life by donating a kidney when she was very sick.
“I feel like this was my calling in life, I guess,” says Jordan tearfully. “Hopefully I can do more for her as I get older, but for the moment, it’s the least I could do. Everything she’s done for me since I was a kid, I just wanted to give it back to her, and show her how much I appreciate her.”
