Domestic abuse is a plague which affects the whole world. It shames humanity and is a problem we all need to be aware of. It’s a big issue in the US and all over, but certain areas suffer worse. Take the former Eastern Bloc country of Serbia, for instance. Half of all women will suffer from violence at the hands of their partners at one time or another. And domestic violence accounts for 30% of all murders in the country. Shocking.
To raise awareness, one brave woman decided to document her wretched time with DV and show others just how debilitating it can be. She decided to take a photograph of herself every day for a year. The results show a woman bruised and battered beyond belief. At the end she holds holding a handwritten note that when translated reads, ‘Help me. I don’t know if I will get to see tomorrow.’
