When you think of a police officer, you probably think of a strapping six foot something dude speeding along in his patrol car, jumping out and wrestling a criminal to the floor and ‘cuffing him. And, sure, those types of cops exist – but they ain’t the only type of policeman. There are short ones, female cops, desk types, all sorts. But our favorite? POLICE DOGS!
Remember the ol’ Jim Belushi film K-9? Yeah, that kind of thing. Or, if you’re more of a Tom Hanks kinds person – Turner & Hooch. Wily, smart and powerful, police dogs are often vital to certain types of operation. Especially drug stings and security jobs. But they’re not born big and strong and trained. Cops have to train them from puppies.
Watching the new recruits is great fun. They’re super cute, of course. But you know they’re all going to grow older and turn into ferocious cops. But still ones who can retire in leisure at the end of their careers…
