Did you know that you could retread tires? I didn’t! I thought they just got chucked away when they were worn out. It turns out that not only is retreading tires possible, it’s also an incredibly amazing process.
The process is a perfect example of man and machine working together in harmony. The worn out tire is loaded on to the machine, where it is rotated at a slow speed. The man then feeds the new tread onto the tire as it turns. Once the whole new tread is on, a weight is applied so that it is securely attached throughout.
In just a couple of minutes this guy takes a completely bald tire and applies a whole new tread. Once done, the retreaded tire looks like it’s hot off the factory conveyor belt!
