Fans of fast-talking high-octane action movies – today’s a day for rejoicing. It’s just been announced by Sony Pictures that a Bad Boys threequel is on the way! Not only that, a fourth installment in the franchise is heading our way too.
It was way back in 1995 when the first Bad Boys movie hit theaters and gave us the unforgettable characters of the ubercool Mike Lowrey (played by Will Smith) and his goofy but loveable partner Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence). It took a full eight years before the sequel came around. But this time, it’ll be a full thirteen years between movies. That’s right, release isn’t until February 2017…
Still, we’ll only have to wait a couple of years for the fourth Bad Boys flick. July 2019 sees Bad Boys 4, hopefully helmed by 1 & 2’s director, Michael Bay. Number 3 looks to be directed by Narc, The Grey and Smokin’ Aces director Joe Carnahan.
Time to get excited…
